Who we are and scope

ETrustPlan is operated by Lag Box, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains how we collect and use personal information through etrustplan.com. Our services are intended for residents of the United States only; we do not knowingly offer the service to individuals outside the U.S., and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Information we collect

Account information: name, email address and authentication data when you create an account or sign in with Google.

Estate planning answers: the information you enter in the wizard, such as your state, family and fiduciary names, asset descriptions and health care preferences. Until you sign in and save, these answers stay in your browser's local storage on your device.

Documents: PDF and Word files you generate and choose to store in your private vault, plus metadata such as document type, state and creation time.

Download contact details: because document preparation is free, we ask for your full name, email address and telephone number before you download your completed documents, together with your consent to marketing contact.

Usage and device data: pages viewed, wizard steps completed, browser type and IP address, used to operate and secure the site and to improve it. Analytics measurement is on by default and you can turn it off at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer; we honor Global Privacy Control signals.

Sensitive information

Some answers, such as health care instructions in a living will or health care power of attorney, are sensitive. We use that information only to assemble the documents you request and to store them for you. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics or for advertising.

How we use information

To assemble, preview, generate and store your documents; to authenticate you and secure your vault; to provide support; to maintain an audit log of account and document activity; to comply with law; and, with your consent, to measure and improve the site.

Marketing: where you have provided your name, email address and telephone number to download documents and consented as described in our Terms of Use, we use that contact information to market our services and other financial products and services (such as insurance, annuities, investment, tax and trust funding services), and we may share it with affiliated companies and licensed financial professionals for that purpose. We contact you by email, phone, text and mail, and you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link, by replying STOP, or by emailing privacy@etrustplan.com. We do not use the sensitive health information in your documents for marketing.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We disclose information only to service providers who process it on our behalf under contract (hosting, database and storage, email delivery, and any AI provider that powers optional assistant features), to a recipient you designate (for example, when you create an attorney share link), and where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Security and retention

Vault files are stored in private storage and downloaded only through short-lived, owner-scoped signed links. Database access is restricted by row-level security so only you — and, for metadata only, authorized support staff — can reach your records. We keep your plan and documents while your account is open and for as long as needed for legal and record-keeping purposes; you may ask us to delete them.

Your rights and how to exercise them

U.S. state privacy laws may give you rights to know or access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of, and limit certain uses of your personal information, to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and certain profiling, and to appeal a denied request. Submit a request from your dashboard or by emailing privacy@etrustplan.com. We verify requests through your account credentials or by matching information you provide, accept requests from authorized agents, respond within 45 days (extendable once where permitted), and never discriminate against you for exercising a right.

We honor browser opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as an opt-out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising.

Electronic communications

By using the site you consent to receive notices, disclosures and documents electronically and to sign electronically. You can print any document you need. Withdrawing electronic consent requires deleting your account.
